Editorial Policy

by Tripp Berg

At Digitaly Bit, we are committed to providing accurate, insightful, and ethical content related to technology, business, startups, and design. This Editorial Policy outlines the principles and standards that guide our content creation, publication, and editorial decisions. Our goal is to maintain credibility, transparency, and the trust of our Canadian and global audience.

1. Editorial Independence

Digitaly Bit maintains full editorial independence. Our content is created and published without undue influence from advertisers, sponsors, partners, or external stakeholders.

Editorial decisions are made solely by our in-house editorial team and contributors, based on journalistic integrity, relevance, and value to our readers. Sponsored or paid content is clearly marked and kept separate from independent editorial content.

2. Accuracy and Fact-Checking

We take accuracy seriously. Our editorial team:

  • Verifies facts using reputable sources
  • Reviews statistics, claims, and references before publication
  • Strives to correct any errors transparently and promptly when identified

While we aim for 100% accuracy, the fast-evolving nature of topics such as technology and business means that information can change. We will revise content when necessary to reflect updates or corrections.

3. Authorship and Transparency

We attribute content to named authors whenever possible. Articles include bylines that identify the writer and, when relevant, their credentials or background.

When external contributors or guest writers are involved, we ensure they meet our editorial standards. We do not accept ghostwritten promotional articles or posts with undisclosed commercial intent.

4. Originality and Plagiarism

All content published on Digitaly Bit is original, unless clearly stated otherwise (e.g., guest contributions, quoted material). We have a strict zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism.

We use plagiarism-detection tools and manual review to ensure all articles meet our originality standards. Proper credit is always given to quoted authors or referenced works.

5. Advertising and Sponsored Content

To sustain the operation of our free blog, Digitaly Bit may include:

  • Affiliate links
  • Sponsored articles
  • Promotional partnerships

Such content is always clearly labeled as “Sponsored,” “Advertisement,” “Partner Content,” or similar language. We do not allow sponsors to influence our independent editorial content.

6. Diversity of Voices

We value a diversity of ideas, perspectives, and voices across the fields of technology, business, and design. We aim to feature a wide range of expert opinions, interviews, and insights that reflect both the Canadian and global landscape.

7. Comment Moderation and User-Generated Content

We encourage thoughtful discussion and feedback from our readers. However, to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment:

  • Comments are moderated for relevance, tone, and civility
  • Hate speech, spam, or abusive language will not be tolerated
  • We reserve the right to remove or disable any content that violates our community guidelines

8. Corrections and Updates

If an error is found in any article, we are committed to transparency. Corrections will be:

  • Clearly noted at the bottom or top of the article
  • Updated with the correct information as soon as possible

For minor changes (such as grammar or formatting), we may update content without a formal correction note.

9. Editorial Team and Review Process

Articles undergo a multi-step editorial process, including:

  • Research and drafting by a subject matter writer
  • Review by an editor for style, clarity, and accuracy
  • Final approval for publication based on relevance and quality

Our team consists of writers and editors with backgrounds in journalism, technology, communications, and business.
